MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have re-assigned forward Stefan Fournier to the Bulldogs from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, while the ‘Dogs have recalled defenceman Bobby Shea from the Nailers.

Fournier has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In eight games with Hamilton, he has recorded one assist and seven penalty minutes. In 12 games with Wheeling, he has recorded five assists and 22 penalty minutes. In 48 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6-3, 224-pound forward has recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) and 93 penalty minutes. In 13 career ECHL regular season games with the Nailers, the Dorval, Que. native recorded five assists and 22 penalty minutes. The 22-year-old was signed by the Canadiens to an entry-level contract on July 6, 2013.

Shea has also split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 13 games with Hamilton, he has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and 21 penalty minutes. In 36 games with Wheeling, he has recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and 93 penalty minutes. In 42 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs and Rockford IceHogs, the 5-11, 195-pound defenceman has recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists) and 105 penalty minutes. In 59 career ECHL regular season games with the Nailers, Toledo Walleye and Reading Royals, the Harrison Township, Mich. native has recorded 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) and 132 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old was signed by the Bulldogs to a one-year contract on July 21, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, March 21 when they’ll visit the San Antonio Rampage at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas at 8 p.m. ET. The ‘Dogs will return home on Thursday, April 2 when they’ll host the Chicago Wolves at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have assigned defencemen David Makowski and Bobby Shea to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

In his first year as a pro, Makowski has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In six games with Hamilton, the 6-1, 205-pound defenceman has recorded no points or penalty minutes. In 36 games with Wheeling, the St. Louis, Mo. native has recorded 14 points (six goals, eight assists) and 51 penalty minutes. Before turning pro, Makowski spent four seasons (2010 to 2014) with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s University of Denver Pioneers. In 142 career games with the University of Denver, the 25-year-old recorded 93 points (27 goals, 66 assists) and 169 penalty minutes. Hamilton signed Makowski to a one-year contract on June 18, 2014.

Shea has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 13 games with Hamilton, he has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and 21 penalty minutes. In 35 games with Wheeling, he has recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and 93 penalty minutes. Shea has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 12 games with Hamilton, he has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and 21 penalty minutes. In 31 games with Wheeling, he has recorded six points (two goals, four assists) and 86 penalty minutes. In 41 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs and Rockford IceHogs, the 5-11, 195-pound defenceman has recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists) and 105 penalty minutes. In 54 career ECHL regular season games with the Nailers, Toledo Walleye and Reading Royals, the Harrison Township, Mich. native has recorded 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and 125 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old was signed by the Bulldogs to a one-year contract on July 21, 2014.

Bakker has also split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 15 games with Hamilton, the 6-4, 210-pound forward recorded one assist and 37 penalty minutes. In 24 games with Wheeling, the Navan, Ont. native has recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) and 37 penalty minutes. In 73 career ECHL regular season games with the Nailers, he has recorded 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) and 113 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro in 2013, Bakker played five seasons (2008 to 2013) for the Carleton University Ravens in Canadian Interuniversity Sport. In 121 games with Carleton, the 27-year-old recorded 48 points (17 goals, 31 assists) and 398 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday, March 4 when they’ll host the Adirondack Flames at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned 17 players to the Bulldogs, including nine forwards, seven defencemen and one goaltender.

The players assigned to Hamilton include (* indicates an injury): forwards Tim Bozon, Daniel Carr, Connor Crisp*, Stefan Fournier*, T.J. Hensick, Charles Hudon, Patrick Holland, Jack Nevins* and Nick Sorkin; defencemen Mac Bennett, Morgan Ellis, Joe Finley, David Makowski, Magnus Nygren, Bobby Shea and Dalton Thrower*; and goaltender Michael Condon.

Hamilton’s training camp will open on Tuesday, Sept. 30 with media availability at FirstOntario Centre at 10 a.m. before the team travels to Newfoundland and Labrador later that day for the Mary’s Cup pre-season series with the St. John’s IceCaps. A complete training camp roster will be announced tomorrow.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have signed defenceman Bobby Shea to a one-year, two-way American Hockey League / ECHL contract for the 2014-2015 season.

Shea split the 2013-2014 season between the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs and the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. In 29 regular season games with Rockford, the 24-year-old recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) and 84 penalty minutes. In 19 regular season games with Toledo, the Harrison Township, Michigan native registered four points (two goals, two assists) and 22 penalty minutes.

The 5’11”, 201-pound defenceman turned professional with the ECHL’s Reading Royals at the end of the 2012-2013 season following a four-year collegiate career. In four regular season games with Reading in 2012-2013, he recorded one assist and 17 penalty minutes. Then, in 15 playoff games, he recorded three points (two goals, one assist) and 21 penalty minutes as he helped Reading capture the 2013 Kelly Cup championship.

Before turing pro, Shea played four seasons with the Bowling Green State University Falcons. In 139 career regular season games with Bowling Green from 2009 to 2013, he recorded 36 points (nine goals, 27 assists) and 239 penalty minutes.
