MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have re-assigned defenceman Morgan Ellis to the Bulldogs from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

Ellis has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In two games with Hamilton, the 22-year-old has recorded seven penalty minutes. In 39 games with Wheeling, he has recorded 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. In his first season in the ECHL, the Ellerslie, P.E.I. native currently sits tied for second among ECHL defencemen in goals and also leads all Nailers defencemen in goals, assists and points.

In 132 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6-1, 204-pound defenceman has recorded 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) and 100 penalty minutes.

Ellis was selected by the Canadiens in the fourth round (117th overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 20 when they’ll visit the Grand Rapids Griffins at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich. at 7 p.m. The ‘Dogs return home on Friday, Feb. 27 when they’ll host the Charlotte Checkers at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have assigned defenceman David Makowski to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

In his first year as a pro, Makowski has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In five games with Hamilton, the 6-1, 205-pound defenceman has recorded no points or penalty minutes. In 26 games with Wheeling, the St. Louis, Mo. native has recorded 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and 47 penalty minutes.

Before turning pro, Makowski spent four seasons (2010 to 2014) with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s University of Denver Pioneers. In 142 career games with the University of Denver, the 25-year-old recorded 93 points (27 goals, 66 assists) and 169 penalty minutes.

Hamilton signed Makowski to a one-year contract on June 18, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 10 when they’ll host the Iowa Wild at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have re-assigned defenceman Dalton Thrower to the Bulldogs from the ECHL’s Brampton Beast, while the ‘Dogs have recalled defenceman David Makowski from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers and signed forward Shane Bakker to a professional try out contract.

In seven games with Brampton this season, Thrower has recorded two assists and 26 penalty minutes. Before turning pro this season, the 6-0, 215-pound defenceman spent five seasons (2009 to 2014) in the Western Hockey League. In 285 career WHL regular season games with the Vancouver Giants and Saskatoon Blades, the Squamish, B.C. native recorded 147 points (42 goals, 105 assists) and 414 penalty minutes. The 21-year-old was selected by the Canadiens in the second round (51st overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Prior to turning pro in 2013, Bakker played five seasons (2008 to 2013) for the Carleton University Ravens in Canadian Interuniversity Sport. In 121 games with Carleton, the 27-year-old recorded 48 points (17 goals, 31 assists) and 398 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 23 when they’ll host the Toronto Marlies at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

Palazzese was recalled by the Bulldogs on Jan. 16 and served as backup to Mike Condon on Jan. 16 and Jan. 17. In 19 games with Wheeling this season, he has a record of 8-10-0 with a 3.56 goals-against average and .885 save percentage. Before turning pro this season, the 21-year-old played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. In 175 career OHL regular season games with the Sudbury Wolves, Kitchener Rangers and Kingston Frontenacs from 2009 to 2014, the 6-1, 175-pound goaltender had a record of 71-69-26 with a 3.13 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and seven shutouts. The Toronto, Ont. native signed a one-year, two-way American Hockey League / ECHL contract with the Bulldogs on Oct. 7, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 23 when they’ll host the Toronto Marlies at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have signed forward Sahir Gill to a professional try out contract. He is expected to play tonight as the ‘Dogs take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at FirstOntario Centre at 7 p.m.

Gill has split this season between the Bulldogs, the American Hockey League’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers. In one game with Hamilton, the 22-year-old has recorded no points or penalty minutes. In 12 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the 5-10, 178-pound forward has recorded three points (one goal, two assists). In 15 games with Wheeling, the Terrace, B.C. native has recorded 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) and four penalty minutes.

Gill also spent the entire 2013-14 season – his first as a professional – with the Nailers. In 67 regular season games with Wheeling, he recorded 54 points (13 goals, 41 assists) and 26 penalty minutes. Before turning pro, he spent three seasons (2010 to 2013) with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Boston University Terriers. In 117 career games with Boston University, he recorded 78 points (28 goals, 50 assists) and 55 penalty minutes.

In 16 games with Hamilton this season, MacDonald has a record of 6-7-3 with a 2.96 goals-against average and .902 save percentage. In 133 career NHL regular season games with the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders and Boston Bruins, the Pictou, N.S. native has a record of 44-61-15 with a 3.00 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and two shutouts. In 316 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs, Abbotsford Heat, Grand Rapids Griffins, Toronto Marlies, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, the 6-0, 197-pound goaltender has a record of 150-132-19 with a 2.64 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and 24 shutouts. The Canadiens signed MacDonald as a free agent on July 1, 2014.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have re-assigned forward Stefan Fournier to the Bulldogs from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

In three games with Wheeling this season since being medically cleared to play and assigned on Jan. 8, Fournier has recorded two assists.

The 22-year-old split the 2013-14 season – his first as a professional – between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 40 games with Hamilton, the 6-3, 224-pound forward recorded seven points (two goals, five assists) and 86 penalty minutes. In one game with Wheeling, the Dorval, Que. native recorded no points or penalty minutes.

The Canadiens signed Fournier to an entry-level contract on July 6, 2013.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 14 when they’ll host the Milwaukee Admirals at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled forward Drayson Bowman from the Bulldogs and have also assigned defenceman Morgan Ellis to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

In 11 games with Hamilton this season, Bowman has recorded six points (two goals, four assists) and five penalty minutes. The 25-year-old spent the 2013-14 season with the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes. In 70 regular season games with Carolina, the 6-0, 195-pound forward recorded 12 points (four goals, eight assists) and 16 penalty minutes. In 176 career NHL regular season games with the Hurricanes, the Grand Rapids, Mich. native has recorded 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) and 53 penalty minutes. In 197 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, Charlotte Checkers and Albany River Rats, he has recorded 116 points (58 goals, 58 assists) and 153 penalty minutes. Bowman was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the third round (72nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Canadiens signed him to a one-year contract on Oct. 2, 2014.

In two games with Hamilton this season, Ellis has recorded seven penalty minutes. The 22-year-old spent last season with the Bulldogs. In 59 games with Hamilton, the 6-1, 202-pound defenceman recorded 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and 36 penalty minutes. In 132 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs, the Ellerslie, P.E.I. native has recorded 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) and 100 penalty minutes. Palazzese spent the 2013-14 season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Sudbury Wolves. In 60 regular season games with Sudbury, the 21-year-old posted a record of 27-23-9 with a 2.97 goals-against average, .916 save percentage and five shutouts. In 175 career OHL regular season games with the Wolves, Kitchener Rangers and Kingston Frontenacs from 2009 to 2014, the 6-1, 160-pound goaltender had a record of 71-69-26 with a 3.13 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and seven shutouts.

Palazzese signed a one-year, two-way American Hockey League / ECHL contract with the Bulldogs on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The Bulldogs open the 2014-15 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they will visit the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial at 7:05 p.m. The puck drops for Hamilton’s home-opening weekend on Friday, Oct. 17, when the ‘Dogs host the Toronto Marlies at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
