 Game Recap:

Just 4:02 into the game, IceCaps forward J.C. Lipon took a stretch pass that sent him in on a breakaway and he fired a wrister past Bulldogs starter Mike Condon for a goal that turned out to be the game-winner.  The rest of the way was a goalie duel between Condon and St John’s netminder Connor Hellebuyck.

Shane Bakker, a waiver pickup by the Wheeling Nailers last season, did his best to make an impression tangling with IceCaps tough guy Austen Brassard.

The third and deciding game of the Mary’s Cup series is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm. ET at the Mile One Centre in St. John’s.
