MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have assigned defenceman David Makowski and goaltender Frank Palazzese to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

In his first year as a pro, Makowski has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In seven games with Hamilton, the 6-1, 205-pound defenceman has recorded no points and two penalty minutes. In 38 games with Wheeling, the St. Louis, Mo. native has recorded 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) and 53 penalty minutes. Before turning pro, Makowski spent four seasons (2010 to 2014) with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s University of Denver Pioneers. In 142 career games with the University of Denver, the 25-year-old recorded 93 points (27 goals, 66 assists) and 169 penalty minutes. Hamilton signed Makowski to a one-year contract on June 18, 2014.

In 37 games with Wheeling this season, Palazzese has a record of 17-18-1 with a 2.95 goals-against average, .908 save percentage and one shutout. He was last recalled by the Bulldogs on March 23 and served as backup for three games. Before turning pro this season, the 21-year-old played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. In 175 career OHL regular season games with the Sudbury Wolves, Kitchener Rangers and Kingston Frontenacs from 2009 to 2014, the 6-1, 175-pound goaltender had a record of 71-69-26 with a 3.13 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and seven shutouts. The Toronto, Ont. native signed a one-year, two-way American Hockey League / ECHL contract with the Bulldogs on Oct. 7, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, April 4 when they’ll host the Utica Comets at FirstOntario Centre at 7 p.m.

Before turning pro, Makowski spent four seasons (2010 to 2014) with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s University of Denver Pioneers. In 142 career games with the University of Denver, the 25-year-old recorded 93 points (27 goals, 66 assists) and 169 penalty minutes.

Hamilton signed Makowski to a one-year contract on June 18, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action tonight when they’ll visit the San Antonio Rampage at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas at 8 p.m. ET. The ‘Dogs will return home on Thursday, April 2 when they’ll host the Chicago Wolves at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have re-assigned forward Stefan Fournier to the Bulldogs from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, while the ‘Dogs have recalled defenceman Bobby Shea from the Nailers.

Fournier has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In eight games with Hamilton, he has recorded one assist and seven penalty minutes. In 12 games with Wheeling, he has recorded five assists and 22 penalty minutes. In 48 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6-3, 224-pound forward has recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) and 93 penalty minutes. In 13 career ECHL regular season games with the Nailers, the Dorval, Que. native recorded five assists and 22 penalty minutes. The 22-year-old was signed by the Canadiens to an entry-level contract on July 6, 2013.

Shea has also split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 13 games with Hamilton, he has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and 21 penalty minutes. In 36 games with Wheeling, he has recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and 93 penalty minutes. In 42 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs and Rockford IceHogs, the 5-11, 195-pound defenceman has recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists) and 105 penalty minutes. In 59 career ECHL regular season games with the Nailers, Toledo Walleye and Reading Royals, the Harrison Township, Mich. native has recorded 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) and 132 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old was signed by the Bulldogs to a one-year contract on July 21, 2014.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have re-assigned defenceman Dalton Thrower to the Bulldogs from the ECHL’s Brampton Beast, while the ‘Dogs have recalled defenceman David Makowski from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers and signed forward Shane Bakker to a professional try out contract.

In seven games with Brampton this season, Thrower has recorded two assists and 26 penalty minutes. Before turning pro this season, the 6-0, 215-pound defenceman spent five seasons (2009 to 2014) in the Western Hockey League. In 285 career WHL regular season games with the Vancouver Giants and Saskatoon Blades, the Squamish, B.C. native recorded 147 points (42 goals, 105 assists) and 414 penalty minutes. The 21-year-old was selected by the Canadiens in the second round (51st overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

In 121 games with Carleton, the 27-year-old recorded 48 points (17 goals, 31 assists) and 398 penalty minutes.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have released five players from professional try outs and also assigned defenceman David Makowski to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

The players released today include forwards Derek Army, Shane Bakker and Riley Brace as well as defencemen Joel Chouinard and Zach Yuen.

These moves reduce the training camp roster to 17 forwards, nine defencemen and three goaltenders.

The Bulldogs open the 2014-15 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they will visit the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial at 7:05 p.m. The puck drops for Hamilton’s home-opening weekend on Friday, Oct. 17, when the ‘Dogs host the Toronto Marlies at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned 17 players to the Bulldogs, including nine forwards, seven defencemen and one goaltender.

The players assigned to Hamilton include (* indicates an injury): forwards Tim Bozon, Daniel Carr, Connor Crisp*, Stefan Fournier*, T.J. Hensick, Charles Hudon, Patrick Holland, Jack Nevins* and Nick Sorkin; defencemen Mac Bennett, Morgan Ellis, Joe Finley, David Makowski, Magnus Nygren, Bobby Shea and Dalton Thrower*; and goaltender Michael Condon.

Hamilton’s training camp will open on Tuesday, Sept. 30 with media availability at FirstOntario Centre at 10 a.m. before the team travels to Newfoundland and Labrador later that day for the Mary’s Cup pre-season series with the St. John’s IceCaps.
