IceCaps Unveil New Logo


St. John’s IceCaps PRESS RELEASE

ST. JOHN’S – The St. John’s IceCaps unveiled Thursday their new primary logo for the team’s first season as the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, during an event at Mile One Centre.

The logo is a revised version of the IceCaps original crest and features the red, white and blue colours of the Canadiens. The new logo is part of an overall re-brand for the IceCaps to reflect a new era for the club.

“This is another historic moment for the IceCaps, as we launch an exciting new look and strengthen our partnership with the legendary Montreal Canadiens franchise,” said IceCaps President and CEO Danny Williams. “The new logo maintains our well established identity while incorporating the iconic red, white and blue colour scheme of the Canadiens, a team with a tradition unrivalled in the NHL. These bold new colours signal a new direction for our franchise and I’m sure they will create excitement and anticipation for IceCaps fans, as we head into the upcoming season.”


• A revised version of the traditional IceCaps primary logo, which has been featured as the primary logo for each of the team’s four seasons

• The logo consists of the wordmark “IceCaps” over rugged mountains, capped with ice in the shape of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador

• The logo now features the official colours of the Canadiens – Red, Royal Blue and White – reflecting the iconic brand of the Montreal Canadiens

• Home and road jerseys will be revealed later this summer

The IceCaps have also updated their website – – to mirror the new look. The IceCaps also revamped the logo for the IceCaps Care Foundation.
