The Montreal Canadiens announced today they have returned defenceman Darren Dietz to the IceCaps.

Dietz, 22, has 16 points and 59 penalty minutes in 58 games with St. John’s. The six-foot-one, 213-pounder was a 5th round draft choice of the Canadiens in 2011 and played his first two NHL games Saturday (versus Minnesota) and Tuesday (versus Florida), collecting four penalty minutes.
